The earliest archaeological evidence of barbecue (Braai in Afrikaans) is found in South Africa. The essence of a Braai is captured in this bold Cabernet blend, which displays aromas and flavours of dark berries, earth and smoke – the ideal complement to a wide range of bbq-friendly flavours. A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Production is overseen by celebrated winemaker Bruwer Raats (proprietor and winemaker of Raats Family Wines).
On September 24th of each year the country celebrates Heritage Day, which in 2007 was renamed Braai4Heritage as a testament to its cultural importance in South Africa.
